Turner Stream Stabilization (Cove Creek) is located in Boone, NC in Watauga County. This project is part of the Western North Carolina Stream Initiative owned by Resource Institute, Inc. Construction began in July 2014 and was completed in September 2014. It consisted of 2200 LF of stream enhancement and streambank stabilization. Banks along the river were sloped, matted, and re-vegetated. Structures installed on this project consisted of rock/log cross vanes, rock/log j-hook vanes, and boulder step-pools. The Turner Stream Stabilization (Cove Creek) project consisted of Priority I stream restoration. The Senior Project Manager for this project was Charles Hill and the assistant project manager/foreman was Chris Heiden.
